Weekend

My how I love weekends and especially relaxing ones!

Friday: We laid low after a happy hour event. I came home and made garlic chicken with pasta. Tuttle went on a date and then we all played Buzz. (The best video game ever!)

Saturday: I had a girls day with my mom. We went to Blue Agave for lunch and then went to our hair lady, Rosa. It was so funny going with my mom to get my hair done with my mom again. Rosa has done my hair since I was 8 or 9 years old. My mom and I would sit for hours talking to Rosa and talking about girlie things. I remember doing my homework with Rosa while my mom's perm set or her color dried. When I turned 16 and could drive myself, my mom and I stopped going to see Rosa together. It was weird at first keeping a conversation with Rosa all by myself, but I eventually got used to it. When we all 3 got together on Saturday, it was like a mini reunion with all of us together. I cant believe how many years she's been cutting my hair. Almost 16 years!

Later on I went over to Christi's for dinner and Girls Night with Maren and Crystal. Our boys all went to some boxing match in LA for the evening. We had a relaxing night just talking and keeping tabs on our Trojans who beat Washington St!

Sunday: I woke up early to go down to Fashion Island for the Susan G. Komen 5k for Breast Cancer. Christi and Chanel put together a team of about 40 people and raised over $2,000. I'm so proud of them and they doubled their goal! The walk itself was very fun and the people were entertaining to watch. I especially loved all of the pink crazy outfits everyone wore! They had pictures of many women who lost their battle against breast cancer and families who walked in their relative's honor. It was very touching to see the amount of support that these people have. I couldnt help but think how lucky my family is that my mom had a false alarm. There were breast cancer survivors there who kept saying how important it is to live everyday to the fullest because you never know what is going to happen. I couldnt agree more.

Afterwards we went to brunch at Billy's for Stephenie's birthday. I was exhausted afterward, so I went home and napped and watched football with Jake.

So that was our weekend. I'm looking forward to getting through this week and off to San Francisco with my friends! Cant wait!

I'm Famous!

Ok, not really.

My outfit is featured on Style Your Life, a blog I mentioned a while back. The owner, Jennifer Rosson, created an outfit for me to wear in San Francisco next weekend.

She did such a fabulous job and I would definitely recommend her if you need an outfit for any special occasion or you just want an everyday work ensemble. The process was super simple. I paid $5 and she emailed me a questionaire and asked for my picture. I told her what I wanted the outfit for and within a couple of days, I had pictures and links to all the websites where I can buy the clothes. So cool! I am already thinking about what I can get from her next!

Isn't the fringe bag to die for? (I already ordered that little jewel).
Happy Hump Day! Cant wait for the weekend!

Updates!

I haven't blogged in awhile, which makes me sad. The whole reason I started this blog was to document my life. So here's a quick re-cap of the past few weeks :)

Two weekends ago, we flew out to Ohio to see the USC vs. Ohio State football game with our good friends Graham and Christi. What a game! We were fortunate enough to get tickets ahead of time from the Bittel family, bless their hearts. (It would have been a nightmare to find tickets once we got there.) We had a great few days eating giant burgers, drinking out of beer helmets, and getting egged by mean Ohio State fans. Ok, well the last part wasn't too fun, but its still a great memory to have and at least we won the game :)

Last weekend we volunteered at the Taste of Newport. We worked at one of the beer booths and I think we actually lost them money by giving away more beer than we sold! Ooops!

Saturday was a sad day in Trojan-ville. We lost to unranked Washington and to our old coach. Not good. We were at the Fergusons house all day eating and drinking our sorrows away. They ordered one of those giant burritos for everyone to share. Mmmm mmm. That night we watched a boxing match (Money May won!) and then went out to bars. It ended being a VERY long night of drinking, we stayed up until 6am. I haven't done that since college!

Sunday was understandably lazy....we just laid around and watched football. I went to the pool with Sti and Stal while Jake napped. Then we went to a friend's house to watch the night game which happened to be the grand opening of the new Dallas Cowboys football stadium. Talk about an amazing place! The jumbo-tron is 60 yards long and the stadium cost $1.1 billion to build! Wow! It was really cool to see. If we end up in Austin (Jake is applying to U Texas), then I definitely want to visit this monster of a place.

This week I've been working on my ethics test to complete my requirements for my CPA. I have 3 trys to get a 90% passing score. I took the test twice already and my last test I scored an 88%. Arggggh. So close! Now I have one more try to pass......kind of stressful.

This coming weekend should be a relaxing one. We are planning a girls night Saturday night and a 5k walk for Susan G. Komen on Sunday. I may be going to LA on Sunday to see my old college roommates and one of their prego sisters since I missed her baby shower a couple of weeks ago. Then next weekend we are off to San Francisco! We are going to have a big group of friends going and we are already planning lots of fun activities! (USC game, sushi, etc.)

Well thats all for now. I need to be a little more consistent on here so I dont ramble like I just did! Happy Fall everyone!

10 Things

I'm bored at work, so I decided to write 10 things on my mind right now.

1. I'm scared for Shreadmill. Starts in about 40 minutes. Its a lot of work and I secretly dread it every time.

2. Excited for USC football to start and watch the first ever true freshman quarterback start in Saturdays game. Not excited that I have to leave my house by 7am to find parking :(

3. My Dior sunglasses broke the other day. Need to go to Target to pick up the kit to put the screw back in. In reality, I will not leave Target with just that kit, but I'm going to try really hard to avoid the inevitable.

4. I have the travel bug. Jake and I talk about a new trip everyday it seems. I want to go EVERYWHERE. My bank account tells me NO WAY.

5. There is a baby crying in my office. Where is that coming from and whose is it?

6. I need a manicure and pedicure badly.

7. I only work 2 days next week. Monday is a holiday and Thursday I am leaving for Ohio to watch my Trojans stomp on the Buckeyes.

8. I wonder if my lotto ticket will win this time. I hit the mega number last week and won $2. I bought 2 more tickets with that money. "I got a feeling...."

9. Fruit Day! I heart Tuesdays for this very reason!

10. I hate paying for dry cleaning. I probably sound cheap, but I wish I didnt have to pay more and more for clothes I have already purchased. Banana has a line of machine washable clothes that have become my best friend. :)

That's all for now! Boring, I know.

Style Your Life

I came across this awesome blog a few weeks back, and I'm just in LOVE. Jennifer is a designer who puts together virtual outfits on her website almost daily. It's fun to pop on over to see what she has come up with and especially looking at the prices. She has a way of mixing in maybe one expensive item and then accessorizing in an economical way. Check her out!

She is doing a virtual outfit giveaway this week that hopefully I will win! :)

Below are some of my fav outfits she has put together that dont break the bank!
